Wheel Pottery Workshop – Clay Beach Studio: The Wheel Pottery Workshop at Clay Beach Studio is a beginner-friendly, hands-on session introducing participants to the basics of pottery using a potter’s wheel. The workshop focuses on learning core techniques while attempting simple functional forms such as a cup, bowl, or plate. Duration: Each session runs for 1.5 hours and may extend up to 2 hours depending on the group’s pace. Workshop Objective: This workshop is designed for learning and exploration. Participants are guided through: - Preparing and centering clay on the wheel - Understanding pressure, balance, and form - Shaping clay into basic structures - Understanding the limitations of wheel pottery - Finished pieces are not guaranteed, as this is a learning-focused session. Materials & Inclusions: - 1 kg of clay per participant - Use of pottery tools and equipment - Aprons provided - Instructor-led guidance Wheel Usage: - The studio has 2 pottery wheels - Groups larger than two will share wheels on a rotational basis Private Session Policy: - Sessions are private and reserved only for the booked group - Groups are not mixed - In rare cases, additional participants may be accommodated within the same time slot Firing & Glazing: - Firing and glazing are not included by default - Offered only if the piece is suitable - Additional charges apply based on piece size Firing Timeline & Pickup: Firing takes approximately 3–4 weeks and may be delayed due to kiln availability Delivery is not included; participants must pick up finished pieces from the studio Important Notes: - Wear comfortable clothing - Long nails are not ideal for wheel work - Cracks, warping, or glaze variations are natural and unavoidable Who This Workshop Is For: Ideal for beginners, first-time learners, couples, friends, or anyone curious to experience wheel pottery
